Fionnuala McAuley is a florist, industry leader, and founder of the Institute of Flowers, dedicated to elevating and uniting the floristry profession across Ireland.

With nearly two decades of hands-on experience, Fionnuala has built her career at the intersection of design, education, and industry development. Alongside her work as a florist, she represents Van der Plas, one of Europe’s leading flower exporters, giving her a unique perspective on the full journey of flowers, from grower, to florist, to customer.

Fionnuala is also a European Master Certified Florist, having completed the prestigious EMC (European Master Certification) programme — an internationally respected floristry education programme known for its high standards in technical skill, creativity, and innovation.

Passionate about flowers from a young age, Fionnuala is known for her warm, down-to-earth approach and her genuine love of supporting other florists. She strongly believes floristry is far more than simply arranging flowers, it is a skilled profession built on creativity, emotion, mechanics, logistics, and human connection.

Through the Institute of Flowers, she has created a welcoming platform that brings together florists from all areas of the industry, retail, weddings and events, freelance, education, and wholesale encouraging collaboration, community, and continuous learning.
