Yvonne is the proud owner with her husband John of Milands Garden Centre, Florist and Capolatte Cafe, Mountbellew, Co.Galway establishing it in 1993.
In the 33 years Yvonne has seen a lot of business changes and especially wonderful changes in floristry.
Yvonne studied hotel management in college and in 1990 joined the bank of Ireland in Dublin airport, Transferring in 1993 to Longford and ending in Roscommon in 2001, while also working in the garden centre at the same time.
Having trained with world renowned Florist Richard Haslam Yvonne has built a floristry business within the garden centre that provides a personal experience for every person that enters their shop, whether it be for funeral flowers ,wedding flowers or a simple bouquet of flowers
Customer service has been the key to their business, overcoming many ups and downs through the years, Yvonne brings a business knowledge and floristry knowledge to the institute that she hopes can help others with their business by making life a bit easier.
Yvonne is also a Committee member of Network Ireland Galway, Board member of the local National School and Vice Captain of Mountbellew Golf Club.
Winning Network Galway Established Business Woman of the year award in 2025 was a fantastic achievement for Yvonne, recognising years of hard work in a business she loves, she is also a member of the Good Florist Guide.
Yvonne is proud to be one board of the institute of flowers and looks forward to sharing her vast business knowledge with institute of flowers by helping the members through education and supporting women in business
