The Institute of Flowers Joins Florint — Strengthening Ireland’s Voice in Global Floristry

The Institute of Flowers (IOF) is proud to announce its official membership with Florint – the International Florist Organisation, marking a major milestone for Ireland’s floristry industry.

Florint represents professional florist associations across Europe and beyond, uniting countries under one umbrella to raise standards, share best practices, and advocate for the floral sector at international level. As part of this global network, IOF now joins more than 20 national florist associations, connecting Ireland’s florists with an international community of educators, designers, suppliers, and industry leaders.

“Joining Florint gives Irish florists a seat at the international table,” said a spokesperson for the Institute of Flowers. “It means Ireland’s floristry industry is now represented in key global discussions about training, standards, and sustainability — while giving our members access to a wealth of new opportunities for growth and recognition.”

Through this membership, IOF members will gain access to:

  • International competitions such as the European Florist Championship and Eurofleurs, opening doors for Irish florists to showcase their creativity on the world stage.

  • Education and training initiatives, including shared standards, certification programmes, and resources designed to enhance professional development.

  • Networking and collaboration opportunities with florist associations across Europe, fostering exchange of ideas, mentorship, and innovation.

  • Advocacy and representation at European level, ensuring that Ireland’s florists have a voice in shaping the future of the floral industry.

  • Access to sustainability and innovation programmes, reflecting IOF’s shared commitment with Florint to build a more environmentally responsible and future-ready profession.

This partnership underscores IOF’s ongoing mission to support and empower Ireland’s florists through training, community, and international collaboration.

“Our alignment with Florint reinforces the IOF’s core belief — that florists thrive when we learn, share, and grow together. This membership allows us to bring world-class knowledge home to Ireland while showcasing the exceptional talent we have here.”

As part of the collaboration, IOF will work closely with Florint to develop pathways for education, competition, and sustainable business practices — ensuring that Ireland’s florists benefit directly from being part of the wider European network.
