Learn, Challenge, Create: A Unique Workshop with Diana Toma

There are workshops that teach techniques, and then there are workshops that change the way you think about floristry.

On the 12th of July, the Institute of Flowers is delighted to welcome Diana Toma back to Ireland for a one-day workshop that promises to do exactly that.

Many of you had the opportunity to meet Diana during Bloom 2026, where she quickly became one of the most talked-about people on the IOF stand. Whether she was helping competitors refine their ideas, encouraging florists to push their creativity further, or simply sharing her infectious enthusiasm for flowers, Diana left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Those who attended her wearable floristry workshop before Bloom will already know what makes Diana such a special educator. She has a unique ability to bring people into her world, helping them see possibilities where they previously saw problems. She builds confidence, encourages experimentation, and somehow makes every florist feel capable of achieving more than they thought possible.

This workshop is not just about creating beautiful designs.

The morning session will focus on theory, discussion, and challenging some of the assumptions we make as florists. Together, we will explore what sustainability really means in modern floristry. Beyond buzzwords and trends, Diana will encourage participants to think critically about materials, techniques, mechanics, waste, and the decisions we make every day in our businesses and creative work.

Most importantly, this conversation is not reserved for shop owners or business leaders. Sustainability affects every florist, whether you work in retail, events, visual merchandising, freelance floristry, education, or are just beginning your career. Every person who works with flowers has the power to make choices that shape the future of our industry.

In the afternoon, the learning moves from theory into practice. Participants will create designs based on the concepts and discussions explored during the morning session, allowing them to put ideas into action and experience firsthand how thoughtful design decisions can influence both creativity and sustainability.

This is an opportunity to learn from one of the most respected floral educators in the world. As COO of the European Master Certification programme, Diana has helped shape the careers of florists across Europe and beyond. Her teaching style is engaging, practical, thought-provoking, and inspiring in equal measure.

Whether you are an experienced florist looking to challenge your thinking, a freelancer wanting to develop new skills, a student eager to learn, or a flower shop owner looking for fresh perspectives, this workshop has something to offer.

If Bloom taught us anything, it is that Diana has a remarkable gift for helping florists grow. She brings energy, joy, confidence, and purpose to every room she enters.

We are thrilled to welcome her back to Ireland and cannot wait to see what our members create under her guidance.

Join us on the 12th of July and prepare to think differently, create differently, and leave inspires.
