IOF Launch at Bellinter House: A Blooming Success!

Last week, the Institute of Flowers (IOF) officially launched at the stunning Bellinter House. What a day it was! Over 70 florists, suppliers and educators gathered to celebrate this important milestone for our industry.

The grand rooms of Bellinter House were filled with excited chatter as we all came together to mark the beginning of something truly special. The launch wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of Positive to Work Skillnet, Skillnet Ireland, MEP Maria Walsh, and Van Der Plas Flowers and Plants.

Special Guests Share Their Support

We were honoured to hear from MEP Maria Walsh, who spoke passionately about the vital role our industry plays in the Irish economy. She emphasised how important it is to support women-led businesses in the floral sector, noting that our work not only creates beautiful arrangements but also contributes significantly to local economies across Ireland.

Representatives from Skillnet Ireland also addressed the gathering, pledging their support to help our community grow. They promised to back the IOF by providing training and skills development opportunities – fantastic news for all of us looking to expand our knowledge and expertise!

Looking Ahead

Our very own Fionnuala presented an exciting 90-day plan that maps out the IOF's first steps. The plan shows how we'll begin supporting Irish florists through education, networking, and advocacy.

What This Means For You

As florists, the launch of the IOF means we now have a dedicated organisation that understands our needs and will fight for our interests. Whether you're just starting out or have been arranging flowers for decades, the IOF will be there to help you bloom and grow.

The energy in the room at Bellinter House showed just how much we needed this institute. The smiles, handshakes and excited conversations proved that the IOF has arrived at just the right time.

We're so grateful to everyone who attended and to our supporters who made this launch possible. This is just the beginning of our journey together!

Stay tuned for updates on upcoming IOF events and opportunities. Together, we'll make the Irish floral industry stronger than ever!
