One Week On: Reflections from the Floral World Cup
It’s hard to believe it has already been a week since we stood among the very best of global floristry at the Florint World Cup in The Hague. The experience has left us inspired, proud, and energised for what’s ahead for the Irish floristry community.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was electric. The competition brought together 23 of the world’s finest floral designers, each pushing the boundaries of creativity, sustainability, and technical mastery. Every piece told a story — from towering installations to intricate wearable designs — proving again that floristry is not just craft, but true art.
For us at the Institute of Flowers, being present was about more than spectating. It was about connection. Meeting with Florint — our new international flower family — reminded us of the power of belonging to a global network. Together, we share knowledge, raise standards, and give florists the recognition they deserve on the world stage.
Highlights of the week included:
Watching the competitors tackle surprise challenges with breathtaking skill.
Learning directly from some of the industry’s most respected voices.
Celebrating the artistry of Tomasz Max Kuczynski of Poland, who took home the World Cup trophy with work that left us all in awe.
The event wasn’t just about competition; it was about unity. We felt proud to stand as part of the Irish floristry community, bringing our voice and presence to the international table. Our involvement is a reminder that Ireland has so much to contribute — and so much to gain — from these global conversations.
One week on, the inspiration is still fresh. We return home with new ideas, new connections, and a renewed determination to support florists across Ireland in growing their businesses, embracing innovation, and striving for excellence.
Here’s to the next step — and to seeing even more Irish involvement on the world stage in the years to come.
