Celebrating Creativity, Colour, and Craft – The Winners of the IOF Wearable Floristry Competition at Bloom 2025
The IOF’s Wearable Floristry Competition at Bloom 2025 was a true celebration of Irish floristry at its finest. For the first time, florists from across the country came together to showcase their skills in a completely new way—through fashion-forward floral designs that could be worn, walked in, and admired up close.
We saw everything from elegant, timeless creations to bold, imaginative works of wearable art. The technical execution was incredibly high, and the creative range on display was breathtaking. It was an emotional, joyful reminder of just how much talent we have in this country—and just how far Irish floristry has come.
Here’s a look at the 2025 winners and what made their designs stand out:
🏆 Floristry Skill – Jenny Murphy
Jenny Murphy - Flowers by Moira
Judged by Lamber de Bie, IOF Chairperson and Ireland’s only Dutch Master Florist
“My winner created a perfectly put-together piece of wearable fashion. The technique wasn’t hidden—it was celebrated, beautifully blended with the colours and form. What truly impressed me was the engineering: this shoulder piece was worn without any clips or pins attaching it to the dress. It was technically sturdy, comfortable, and lasting. A real winner.”
Jenny’s work showed precision, design confidence, and structural brilliance. Her win is a well-deserved recognition of skill meeting beauty.
Allison Hood
🏆 Best Use of Colour – Allison HooD
Judged by Adele Roche, Colour Psychologist
“This piece stood out immediately. The way warm oranges and cool purples were mixed was absolutely effortless. Every colour was carefully considered in its placement, creating perfect harmony. The design was vibrant and energising, yet delicate and elegant—a very hard combination to achieve.”
🏆 Most Impactful Design – Treasa Ní Bhrain, Columboola Blooms
Judged by MEP Maria Walsh
“Treasa’s wings had such presence. There was something beautifully organic and natural about them. They were bold, unique, and quietly powerful. They didn’t shout—but they didn’t need to. They were a full-body expression, not just a piece of jewellery or a headpiece. That’s real impact.”
Treasa’s creation sparked conversations and admiration all weekend long. It was the kind of design that lingers in the mind long after you’ve seen it.
